About the event
Ski Mountaineering is making its Olympic debut in 2026! Join us for an exciting day at Whaleback, where you can learn about the Skimo, demo lightweight gear, participate in a group tour/individual race, compete in (or cheer on) a fun relay race, and meet USA National Ski Mountaineering Team member David Sinclair. Come discover what ski mountaineering is all about—so you’ll know exactly what to watch for during the Olympics, and maybe even get inspired to try a race or two yourself!
This event supports Whaleback as it works to replace its main lift. Event is free of charge, but uphill participants must have a UNE multi-mountain season pass, a Whaleback season pass (alpine or uphill), or a Whaleback uphill day pass. Day pass vouchers that come with your UNE Membership can also be used!
